Welcome to Lake Hills S.T.E.M. Elementary School! I am extremely excited to begin my fourth year at Lake Hills, my second year as the proud principal of our Lions. The Lake Hills staff and I pride ourselves on being a team that is dedicated, caring, knowledgeable, and passionate about educating each student who walks through our doors. Our team is dedicated to helping every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe in the potential of every child and strive to cultivate a love of learning, foster critical thinking, and develop well-rounded students who grow into adults prepared to make meaningful contributions to society. We offer a rich and diverse curriculum that challenges and inspires our students while encouraging them to explore both their interests and the world around them. We acknowledge the importance of a strong partnership between the school and home. Your involvement and support plays a critical role in your child’s educational journey. As a mother of four, I know how critical and helpful that partnership can be.

I graduated in 2002 with a degree in Elementary Education and completed my master’s in Educational Leadership in 2012, both from Indiana University. Upon graduating from college, I spent 13 years at an elementary school in Gary serving as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal.  After staying home with my two youngest children for two years, I decided to return to the school setting in 2019 and have been with Michigan City Area Schools ever since.

Like many of you, I wear many hats. Some of the most important hats I wear are those of a wife and mother!  I moved to the Michigan City area in 2002 when I met my wonderful husband. We have been married for over 17 years and have since added four amazing children ranging from ages seven to fourteen. They keep me pretty busy when I’m not at work. As a mom of four, I understand the challenges we as parents face daily. I’m committed to building strong partnerships with families and not only supporting the students in the building, but also the families whenever possible. The saying “It takes a village to raise a child” couldn't be more true, and together we will help each student reach their fullest potential. Thank you for partnering with us and trusting us to help your precious children grow and achieve their goals.
